Bullguard is a robust security suite that covers all bases. It is not as feature-rich, but it offers an excellent solution for those who want to get more out of their antivirus software. It’s also extremely efficient, avoiding heavy loads on the system while offering a variety of options to reduce it when necessary.

The program opens to a hub-like application that has a tiled layout for its various modules, such as antivirus, firewall, PC tune up, game booster and home network scanner. The “Vulnerabilities’ section will alert you to issues such as missing Windows updates autostart service, open ports. The “Game Booster” is a program that optimizes your computer automatically when you play, is helpful for gamers.

In our tests, bullguard was pretty effective at stopping malware infections, and was quite light on system resources in comparison to other products in terms of CPU use. However, we did notice that the background processes of the antivirus took up a significant amount of RAM, especially on systems with a limited amount of memory. When viewing a high-resolution monitor the hub application appeared to be pixelated.

Bullguard’s Premium Protection subscription comes with an app for mobile devices that offers security against theft, parental controls and basic backup support to your tablet or smartphone. However, the app is a bit basic and doesn’t offer essential features such as webcam protection or file shredders. Also, support via phone is only offered via live chat or email.
