Malwarebytes is an excellent product however it has some problems that prevent it being a great choice for all users. One of them is that it charges more than its competitors for one device subscription. It’s also not as comprehensive in terms of features as some other competitors.
Malwarebytes provides multiple layers of protection, including protection for the web, ransomware as well as adware protection. malware and PUP (potentially unwanted programs) detection and removal. It also has solid real-world protection capabilities, with results in AV Comparatives testing that consistently rank it among the top products in its class (August 2022 – October 2022).
Customers who pay for the service have access to these features as well as many others. Clicking on the corkscrew on the bottom right corner of the dashboard allows them to alter the settings of the software. The premium version comes with advanced features like exploit protection. This helps to stop attacks that use weaknesses and bugs within applications and systems. Malwarebytes can also detect and block browser lockers, block in-browser Cryptojackers and stop other scams that seek to steal information or money from your online account. It is also able to identify and stop phishing websites. Unfortunately, it’s not equipped with the same level of identity theft protection that other competitors do however that will be changing soon, as it recently purchased Cyrus Security, a company that provides these services.
